The API coupler gauge is designed to check wear of the API coupler
- double-sided, with each side representing an oversize API adapter or nose
- if the gauge end etched "warning" allows the coupler to fully latch on, then the triggers need replacing and the coupler should have maintanence done
- the other side is etched "remove from service", as the coupler is sufficiently worn to risk a spill
